As an environmentally friendly raw material, silica gel is loved by the majority of people for its various superior properties. Its flexibility and non-toxicity are widely used in industrial sealing and medical devices. Especially its working temperature: -60 to 250 degrees Celsius is unmatched by plastics. The use of silicone to wrap metal or plastic parts to form some new properties makes the product soft and hard. For example, the silicone-coated steel kitchen spatula is loved by consumers for its environmental protection. Silicone is different from plastic. Silicone is a thermoformed material. The raw material of silicone will solidify to form the product we want under a certain temperature.
1. Extrusion molding process
Just like we squeeze toothpaste, the extruder head is also the cross-sectional shape of the product, with a certain length. Under the action of force and temperature, the product coming out of the head has been vulcanized and formed. The products formed by this process are generally strip-shaped products, and the product cross-sections can be various. For example, rectangular strips, circular silicon tubes, etc.
2. Epoxy process
The raw material of silica gel is liquid, and the raw material is installed in the syringe, and the raw material is dropped onto the mold by pneumatic and manual operation, and then heated and vulcanized to form. This process is a manual process, which requires a lot of labor. So the production capacity is not high. It has a feature, a product can be dripped with multiple colors as required. So this craft is mostly for making crafts. For example, multi-color silicone bracelets, silicone mobile phone cases with various color patterns, etc.
3. Solid state hot pressing process
This process uses the temperature and pressure of a hydraulic press to vulcanize the product with the help of a mold. This process is relatively low-cost, high-yield, and widely used. It is mostly used in monochromatic silicone products. It can also be applied to dual-color and dual-hardness products or multi-color and multi-hardness products, but the structure of the product is not flexible and restricted. It can also be applied to plastic and metal cladding. It is also inflexible in structure and has temperature requirements for the packaged objects. Generally, the packaged objects must be resistant to 180 degrees Celsius without deformation.
4. Liquid injection molding process (liquid silicone product production process)
The equipment required for this process includes a silicone injection machine and a material press. Its raw material is water thick, divided into A and B components. Its principle is: use a press machine to press the raw materials of the A and B components into the barrel of the injection machine according to 1:1 to mix, and then press it into the hot mold cavity through the nozzle to form. The molding temperature of this process is relatively low, 130 degrees is fine. It can be used for plastic overmolding that is not resistant to high temperatures, which has advantages over solid state hot pressing.
